Bruce Wang: Actor / Screen Writer / Photographer

Welcome To Citizen Wang Studio. I am mainly a portrait photographer, recording my relationship with the model and encouraging them to express themselves on camera for over 50 years. There have been sessions that were less than successful but I am glad to say that I managed to pull something out of all of them. Please view the citizen wang studio portfolio page.

I had a very enjoyable and intense 3 month period in 2019 when I photographed 50 Drag Kings, Queerlesque and Trans Men. These are shown in Kings of Drag Books 1-5. The books are available to buy online in paperback version or by ebook from Amazon. Please check out the Kings of Drag website for more information.

My inspiration comes from The Sunday Times Colour Supplement photos of the 60's and 70's by David Bailey and Don McCullin, as well as work by the great Ansel Adams, Man Ray and Cartier Bresson. More recent inspiration has come from the wonderful Cindy Sherman and Alex Prager.
